If you'll be visiting often to swap out seasonal items or business inventory, plan for a small aisle down the middle. A little extra room now saves a lot of frustration later.
Match the unit type to what you're storing.
Size is only half the question. Wood furniture, electronics, photos, and important papers do best in a climate-controlled unit. Lawn equipment and sturdy garage items do fine in a drive-up, non-climate unit, which also makes loading easy.
